أفاد الملحق الدبلوماسي الكندي عند أنقرة كريس كووتر، إن تركيا تتحمل أضخم عبء عن العالم عبر استضافتها 4 ملايين نازح.
أتى هذا في عصري أدلى به كووتر للأناضول، بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية الـ 75 لإقامة الصلات الدبلوماسية بين كندا وتركيا.
وذكر الملحق الدبلوماسي الكندي أن تركيا تستضيف على أراضيها 4 ملايين نازح، بينهم 3.5 ملايين سوري.
وتحدث: “العالم برمته مدرك أن تركيا تتحمل أضخم عبء عنه في استضافتها 4 ملايين نازح”.
ولفت كووتر حتّى الجالية التركية تشهد نموا كبيرا في كندا، وتقوم بأعمال جيدة.
وأشار الملحق الدبلوماسي الكندي إلى احتمالية تحديث حوار جيد بين البلدين عن طريق التركيز على ساحات التعاون.
وبين أن أكثر أهمية الدوافع التي تمشي بالعلاقات التركية الكندية، هي الرابطة البينية بين الناس.
وصرح: “الجالية التركية في نمو متتالي بكندا، وتقوم بأعمال جيدة، ونعتقد أن عددهم يدنو من 100 ألف، معظمهم يقيمون في تورنتو ومونتريال وفانكوفر”.
ونوه كووتر حتّى عديدة آلاف من التلاميذ الأتراك يتلقون تعليمهم الدولي في كندا، معربا عن رغبته في معيشة رابطة ثنائية بين البلدين في ميدان التعليم.
ولفت حتّى كندا وتركيا شريكان في حلف في شمال الأطلسي (ناتو)، وتعملان سويا في مكافحة الارهاب بهدف إرساء الثبات في الجمهورية السورية.
وشدد أن العلاقت التجارية بين البلدين تمشي إلى الأمثل، رغم تعرض تركيا لعمليات إرهابية ومحاولة انقلاب حديثا، موضحا أن عند كندا استثمارات في ميدان التعدين بتركيا.
وتابع كووتر: “وثمة كذلك قضية جناية قتل الصحفي السعودي حُسن خاشقجي، فالرئيس أردوغان ورئيس الوزراء ترودو يتشاطران التوتر في ذلك الخصوص، كما أن وزيري خارجية بلدينا تناولا تلك القضية الكثير من المرات”.
وأثارت جناية قتل خاشقجي داخل السفارة المملكة السعودية بإسطنبول في 2 تشرين الأول / شهر أكتوبر الزمن الفائت، غضبا دوليا ومطالبات متواصلة بالكشف عن موضع الجُسمان، ومن أمر بقتله.
وبعدما قدمت تفسيرات متضاربة، أقرت العاصمة السعودية الرياض بأنه تم قتل الصحفي السعودي وتقطيع جثته داخل السفارة، إثر فشل محادثات لإقناعه بالعودة إلى المملكة.

He spoke: "The whole world is aware that Turkey bears the brunt of its burden in hosting 4 million displaced people."
Cotter pointed out that the Turkish community is witnessing a great growth in Canada, and is doing good work.
The Canadian diplomatic attaché indicated the possibility of modernizing a good dialogue between the two countries by focusing on the fields of cooperation.
And that the most important drivers of Turkish-Canadian relations are the interconnection between people.
He stated: "The Turkish community is growing in succession in Canada, and is doing good jobs. We believe that their number is close to 100,000, most of them reside in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver."
Coutre noted that even several thousand Turkish students receive their international education in Canada, expressing his desire to live a bilateral relationship between the two countries in the field of education.
He drew up Canada and Turkey as partners in a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and are working together in the fight against terrorism with the aim of establishing stability in the Syrian Republic.
He stressed that the trade relations between the two countries are going to the best, despite Turkey's exposure to terrorist operations and a recent coup attempt, explaining that Canada has investments in Turkey's mining field.
"There is also a case of felony murdering Saudi journalist Hassan Khashoggi. President Erdogan and Prime Minister Trudeau share the tension in that regard, and our foreign ministers have dealt with this issue many times," he added.
The felony of Khashoggi's murder inside the Saudi Arabian embassy in Istanbul on October 2 last time has provoked international outrage and continued calls to reveal the location of the two bodies and who ordered his killing.
After offering conflicting interpretations, the Saudi capital, Riyadh, acknowledged that the Saudi journalist had been killed and his body cut off inside the embassy, after talks failed to persuade him to return to the Kingdom.
